Greenwell from Mbeya Tanzania invited me to visit since 2017 so I made my first trip to Tanzania in April 2025 and spent ~10 days with his family in a suburb when translated to English is “slaughterhouse”! Greenwell and his wife adopted children as their own who were discarded or abandoned and have been raising them as their own. At any given time they have ~15 persons living at home. They also provide pastoral care and community support for various groups of people totalling ~2,000.

In the latter half of 2025, our financial support has brought much blessing to this family, from having purchased shoes and backpacks for the children (for school), purchased beds and mattresses to raise the children from sleeping on the floor, paid for 3 young men to receive education / skills (carpentry, business, mechanic courses), funded a young girl’s hobby jewellery business, paid for the family to purchase seed to plant corn and sunflower in the ‘shiamba’ (farm).

In September 2025, monthly equipping sessions commenced for ~150 people to acquire knowledge and to learn the skills regarding money, how to use money for savings leverage investments and ultimately to create income through micro businesses. The objective is to agitate economic growth and generate turnover for the sustainable and ongoing betterment of the communities that these people represent.

Our long term goal is to help Greenwell purchase land and establish profitable educational institution for primary and secondary school aged children. The capital outlay is ~AUD 10,000 for the legal structure, ~80,000 for the purchase of land, and ~190,000 to instal container classrooms immediately and employ staff, and then in the long run to construct the buildings for school.

Your generous donations will sow the seeds for the education and enrichment of many generations of young persons in this part of the world.
